Jun 20, 2011 - Hamilton Air Show 2011 - WWII Fighters
I'm a long time PC Pilot, meaning I have one crazy computer setup that I use to simulate flying all kinds of aircraft. Of all the simulations I fly, the IL2 Sturmovik series (a WW2 based combat simulator) is where I've devoted the most time. Many of the aircraft flown in that simulator were on hand at the Hamilton Air Show, and seeing them first-hand is exciting when you already feel you have an intimate knowledge of them from countless hours of virtually flying them.
The aircraft of WW2 are gorgeous to look at, and also to hear as they buzz past the crowd. The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XVI is a personal favourite, but I was also in complete awe seeing other models including the Hawker Hurricane Mk. IV, North American P-51D Mustang, Curtiss P-40N Warhawk, Fairey Firefly Mk. V, and the Goodyear FG-1D Corsair to name just a few of the famous WW2 warbirds.
Obviously, if you like planes these are true beauties to gawk at!
